- Complete Z50 K2 tank and headlight kit
- Kit includes:
- Painted fuel tank
- Painted headlight bucket
- Headlight assembly
- Headlight emblem
- Tank emblems
- Petcock
- Tank cap
- Rubber tank mounting kit
IMPORTANT – COLOR MATCHING
- PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING: The headlight bucket and fuel tank DO NOT MATCH in color.
- The headlight bucket is a noticeably different shade than the tank.
- We have added additional photos showing the color variations between the tank and headlight bucket.
- We want to be 100% transparent about this difference so there are no surprises when you receive the kit.
- The yellow on the tank also appears to contain slightly more black pigment, making it somewhat darker than the original Honda Mexican Yellow.
- The tank and headlight bucket are NOT color matched.
PAINT & COATING PROCESS
- The components go through a multi-step paint and coating process:
- Phosphating of the metal surface
- Lacquer primer
- Yellow/White base coat
- Clear coat for the final finish
- The result is a nice rider-quality finish, but it is not show-quality paint.
PAINT QUALITY
- CHP Rating: B-
- Paint quality is acceptable and provides a very nice rider-quality finish.
- This kit offers excellent value considering the number of components included.
- For a high-end restoration, we recommend having these components professionally repainted along with the other painted parts of the motorcycle.
- Repainting the complete group of components will provide a more consistent color and finish throughout the restoration.
HEADLIGHT DETAILS
- The headlight bucket includes a K1-style headlight emblem.
- Please note: The included headlight assembly is slightly smaller than the original OEM Honda headlight assembly.
- This is an important detail to consider before purchasing.
FUEL TANK PREPARATION – IMPORTANT
- With any new fuel tank, we strongly recommend inspecting and flushing the inside of the tank before installation.
- Carefully inspect the inside of the filler neck for paint overspray or residue.
- Ethanol-containing fuel can quickly loosen paint residue that may remain inside the filler neck.
- Removing any overspray before installation can help prevent paint particles from entering the fuel system.
- Take the time to properly inspect and flush the tank before adding fuel.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a rider-quality tank and headlight package, not a color-matched, show-quality restoration set. The tank and headlight bucket DO NOT MATCH IN COLOR. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing.
